Trust Segala?

Having researched the market thoroughly, Segala was the obvious choice for us because the industry needs independent accreditation.

About Segala

Segala is an independent organisation, enabling trust for Web accessibility and Mobile content standards. We certify Web sites that comply with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Mobile content that complies with quality standards.

We provide two certification programmes.

Tier one certification is based on Segala’s experts performing checks to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Tier two is a self-certification programme provided to organisations who require their suppliers to ‘self-certify’ against Segala’s standards. Segala performs spot checks to ensure that required processes are followed and adhere to the applicable standards.

A Certificate can be awarded as a visual logo acting as a seal of approval on a Web page. A certificate can also be machine readable coded in the form of content labelling. Content labelling is an automatic process of adding a small amount of non-intrusive code to Web or Mobile content to support the use of filtering. The ability to filter content based on customer need is becoming increasingly important throughout many industries. Inappropriate content served to customers is high on most corporate responsibility agendas.

Inappropriate content is investors second most frequently raised concern.
